20 Jan 2007 - Preston Unit Premier Unit again
Once again Preston Unit has gained the top award for unit efficiency with yet another Burgee standard year in 2006.
This is the most recent in over 25 years of attaining the highest standard acheivable for efficiency.
The award is based upon an annual inspection, Royal Naval Unit Review (RNUR) followed by a Royal Naval Parade (RNP).
Statistics are taken from the whole year; training, unit cleanliness, health and safety, cadet retention, qualifications are just a few of the topics units are assesed on.
Top units in the UK are awarded a Burgee (fish tailed flag), units not up to burgee standard recieve a pennant and poorer units will recieve a letter from the Commodore :-(
